Frostweaver

Recommended Posts

Guinea Pigs are widely known to be more dexterous than Elves, do you even real life bro?

I'll most likely be playing a frost weaver if for no other reason than that absolutely fabulous hair that hangs below her posterior end. That and magic. Oh, also those rats have really beady eyes, can't trust them. Seriously though, I'll take the -1 dex penalty for that fabulous hair.

Perception is reality.

I'd bet that archetypes with better stat spreads will tend to have fewer promotion and discipline options.

Let's say that Centaurs and Guinea Pigs have better stats than Humans and Elves, but can only promote to a few classes. They trade a better starting stat spread (read: more specialized) for a reduced array of advancement options. Races like Humans already have quite a few archetypes at their disposal, and will probably have access to most of the promotion classes. I'd guess that if we scrolled down a little on that archetype selection screen, we'd see quite a few other elven archetypes. Shadowbane's character system worked similarly: with Humans, Elves and similar races having access to all four base classes and most of the promotion classes. Specialty races like Centaurs or Minotaurs couldn't be rogues or mages, but made better overall fighters, and decent healers.

I imagine we'll see some Elven Melee DPS, more ranged DPS, specialists, and a tank. I'm still waiting for that Elven Blademaster archetype referenced in the MMORPG.com crafting article.

@Soulein, perhaps, I'm just speculating here and thought about the total ability stat pool for those two archetypes in a comparison - it might be a logic reason behind it, who knows.  :)

I just forsee that the spellweavers cast more 'magic' related skills compare to the duelist with a flintlock pistol for instance. And my reasoning behind the +1 intellect for Spellweavers so both archetypes get the same amount of total ability points.

I really like the art.

The Frostweaver is tagged as a Ranged DPS, we can't really compare it with the Duelist who is tagged as a Specialist :)

On the other side, Frostweaver and Confessor have the exact same stats. Tthey are both Ranged and magical Archetypes :)

And the Duelist could be compared with the other Specialist, the Assassin. They have 1 different points, but this can be because they have different weapons, and so different kind of attacks.

These are only base stats they will scale accordingly...ALSO as they act as multipliers to the character's natural abilities, this will even out...even if your physical stats aren't boosted as well as others your class ability's will probably have more power thus balancing out how the stats boost you.

Devs already told us that Archetypes with fewer raw attributes compensate with more creation points for runes (Like it is the case with human archetypes so far).  The archetypes are balanced, don't you worry about that.

@sneaky, it's just an open debate - nothing too serious. And I'm guessing that the frostweaver is more a typical caster centric archetype compare to the duelist hence my reasoning about the Intellect comparison. It's also about the confessor too

in my opinion about the INT stat - since it's obviously magic users compare to a rogue based archetype, duelist.

I don't think stats are gonna be a meaningful indication of archetype value, things like equine mobility, flight and burrowing, vs magic, heavy armor or whatever else are what will make the difference. Hopefully they won't even attempt to balance it in a classical sense and focus on role depth rather than stat comparison and raw face off similarity.

I have watched few videos since yesterday, but so far I've only seen the Frostweaver using a bow.

Have you seen a video where she uses her "Kusarigama" (frost blade with rope) ?
