02/27/15 - Distribution/hosting Outside Of North America For Crowfall

Recommended Posts

I just have to say this as A South Africa, if you get a company that region locks you will lose a great number of players. I remember in BDO how we had about 15K players here who wanted to play but could not. As log as we dont get different treatment between regions I say anything is fine. I play EU by the way.

And I wont let it die us Africans also need a word in :D

I am from Romania and our internet connection is among the best in the world.

The neighborhood networks work well in dense urban areas of Romania, but hanging fiber optic cables from the trees in the internet wastelands of America wouldn't make for a very practical solution for our slow internet woes.

Perhaps some trees were blowing during your testing? Source: https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/jp5aa3/why-romanias-internet-is-so-much-faster-than-americas

Seriously though, most likely your problems are sourced because they aren't using EU servers for most of the tests lately. You are in essence connecting across an ocean to an AWS server somewhere depending on the tests.
