BarriaKarl 2,393 Share Posted November 3, 2021 Im not a fan of the RNG rewards. If I had to pick Id rather you give 'Discipline coins' or whatever and allow people to buy their own discs. As this is guild level it isnt a HUGE issue since ideally there will be guild members wanting all sort of different discs, but there are still a lot of majors that are duds and would feel awful to draw. BarriaKarl 2,393 Share Posted November 3, 2021 Is Shadow getting the faction locking? Cuz otherwise it is the same old faction stacking once a winner starts to appear. There is zero reason for faction loyalty. Solstar, Tofyzer and Grimlok 1
Kynadre 34 Share Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) The four images at the bottom, are these additional Shadows rewards, or mistakenly placed images? The Mogul top 20% Guild Reward looks out of place with the other Shadow rewards. BelmontHalo 34 Share Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) this is insane. too many legendary/purple discs for the current population. should ramp it up slowly as players come back. it will kill the market for the knowledges and green minors you get from thralls. will also make using green crafting/gathering discs on anything but belts pointless. if this is going to be every 30 days still the game will be saturated with legendary discs pretty quickly. Spawl 546 Share Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) Why are siege weaponry still in the list since you cannot import them to campaigns where they matter? The disciplines seem excessive. Dakotah 34 Share Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) What is the intended use of 1000 vendor stalls? Are there other more interesting/useful rewards that these can be replaced with? What is the intended use of siege parts / siege engines that cant be imported? What are we supposed to do with these RNG rewards are bad. Gamers don't like "surprise reward mechanics" they deal with them and in some games spend a lot of money on them (looking at you Archeage) but they are gimmicky and pretty much universally hated. Use a token system to let people pick the disciples they get not rely on RNGsus This seems like maybe a good time to ask if there are any plans to rework the conquest scoring system - tie scores to individual players so if they leave a guild the points go with them. Just like guilds that leave alliance - grant conquest points for unique daily player kill - grant conquest points for running pigs/using building material Do 1-3 place winners also get top 20% / 40% rewards? I've heard some people say yes others say no? Edited November 3, 2021 by Dakotah miraluna
Solstar 418 Share Posted November 4, 2021 I want to reiterate some type of Faction balance/lock mechanic. If it's the same old Shadow, you might as well just give the rewards to Moon again. Faction loyalty means nothing right now, and an overwhelming majority in one faction makes EVERY game activity inconsequential for that faction. Erethion 95 Share Posted November 4, 2021 This looks great! Is there going to be a preview or post about the vendors? What would they contain? How much are items to buy? I would hate to have players "Go Hard" in dregs and shadows to get these coins and the rewards are very lack-luster.
BlackBlood 68 Share Posted November 4, 2021 I don't even think seeing 10 million gold pop up on my screen in 3 days would fill the void this game has left in my soul. Constructive criticism - cosmetics 🙂🙂
miraluna 2,832 Share Posted November 4, 2021 Looking forward to the token and vendor system in 7.4 instead of the fixed rewards (so we can actively pick what we want). Tofyzer and Dakotah
Thon 302 Share Posted November 4, 2021 I can get the gold and dust since how much of those NA is putting in to win a campaign (usually more than that), so that's good. But those stacks of lego hunger shards seems real excessive for the amount of time rng it take on hunger shards. Probably it's going to be the same with disciplines in there. I worry it looks more like a short term solution as incentive that will burn out the game sooner than the things you have planned. Agree with this 55 minutes ago, BelmontHalo said: this is insane. too many legendary/purple discs for the current population. should ramp it up slowly as players come back. it will kill the market for the knowledges and green minors you get from thralls. will also make using green crafting/gathering discs on anything but belts pointless. if this is going to be every 30 days still the game will be saturated with legendary discs pretty quickly. coolster50 2,957 Share Posted November 4, 2021 Echoing above, 100 Random Legendary/Purple Discs and Hunger shards is excessive, compared to the effort it takes to farm the knowledges. Same for the Chasing Hammer and Elven Gouge. The EK stuff is fine for the most part, though, the vendor stalls and god statues kinda have limited usefulness since they need to socket to other buildings or don't have much aesthetic value in having multiples. The Siege Weapons and components in the Power rewards are also bad since they can't be imported into Equipment Only campaigns. Maybe switch them for a random cash-shop relic (so there's now a way to earn them in-game) or a belt/back item Icyy and Thon 2 You Can't Be A Genius, If You Aren't The Slightest Bit Insane. LashLash 327 Share Posted November 4, 2021 (edited) Most of the random major disciplines will not be meta, therefore might encourage some exploration of builds if people get a nice off-meta disc, they might experiment and explore more themselves. So happy with that. Hoping for some balance changes to let some of these discs to go in and out of favour too, even if the meta naturally changes from this point. As the rewards are buffed, I'm happy to dodge a bunch of grind and try out some new random disciplines, for myself and for others in my guild to try out. PopeUrban 4,338 Share Posted November 4, 2021 (edited) The rewards are not excessive as listed. They're finally reasonable. There is a hole in the utility though. Considering the RNG on the discs I think its fine. What this doesn't address is the core annoyance of campaign rewards eating your harvested mats in the getting and paying none on the back end. I stopped playing the game because of this grind cycle. So did my guild. We liked trying to do campaign things. We didn't like constantly having to stop doing that to go farm more stuff so often. Here's what would get me to actually log in, rewards wise: Allow people to straight up buy raw materials with the tokens, among their other uses. 20 blues/ 10 purple / 5 legendary per token. That would put your 60% conquest reward (achievable by most guilds that remain active for an entire campaign) at a point where you are rewarded enough tokens to cash out for 30k total blues. That is absolutely a reasonable amount of materials as a reward for being slightly above average. Not only that, but as a stackable currency it has excellent utility patching holes in the resource pie that result due to quirks in the map generator. This setup alone would make every campaign goal valuable because the tokens are inherently of value to everyone. I have zero problem with "the people who already won" getting giant piles of stuff. Good. They won. That isn't the problem, and they already had those piles as a function of controlling the maps. The problem the game has is the barriers to entry and upkeep for everyone else. Let people turn campaign scores in to less farming, and they'll actually care about campaign scores. The concept of "burnout" at an elevated reward level is ludicrous. The people that burned out, for the most part, didn't burn out because the rewards were too good. They burned out because they got tired of the tedium or farming to keep up with the joneses, or simply because the class balance required a paradigm shift in what they were farming versus what they need to farm now. My entire guild literally burned out because of the extreme amount of farming it took to get pretty much anything done. We burned out because there was stuff in the game we wanted to do, that we liked to do, and it was unrealistic to actually do it more than like 20% of our play time. That balance saw the members of my guild drop off one by one, all giving the exact same reason: They like the PvP, the farming isn't that bad to actually do, but there's too much farming and it pays for not enough fighting. Rewards balance isn't going to fix class and ability balance, and it sure as heck isn't going to fix the lack of any team balancing whatsoever in shadows that makes the entire game mode an exercise in "who can metagame the most efficiently", but people actually having stuff, being able to sell or buy stuff, and being able to get in a fight without the dread of one bad day meaning they're back to smacking rocks would be a good thing. Does it take some of the thunder out of harvesting? Yes. Is that a problem? No. The game as is is entirely too reliant on harvesting. blazzen 4,632 Share Posted November 4, 2021 Copying this from the Discord thread on the same subject. Sorry, not sorry, for the formatting. [LoD] Blazzen — Today at 7:49 AM The siege engines in the power rewards need to be replaced with something else since you can't even import them. [LoD] Blazzen — Today at 8:06 AM I forget the cost to get a legendary major - 432,000? 16,000 x 27 discs? Something like that. 43 million gold value for 100 of them. Seems like a lot? [8:07 AM] especially when you consider the top gold reward is like 1.5 million? [8:07 AM] should probably be more like 10 discs, than 100, when you look at what they're worth in gold. [8:08 AM] I do think the rewards needed a boost, but 43 million gold worth of discs may just tank the economy for discs. [8:10 AM] Even 25 purple discs for top 20% is about 3.6 million gold worth. And pretty much anyone who is semi active should reach top 20%. [8:10 AM] I think I stopped at BLUE majors haha [8:11 AM] gold, dust, resources, are all good things because they get consumed. Disciplines don't really get "consumed" per se. [8:11 AM] I think this change could really devalue disc hunting and the market for discs which is one of the few PVE activities this game has. [8:12 AM] the rewards boost needs to come in with the new currency system. [8:12 AM] don't use discs as a placeholder for that. [8:14 AM] It's a nutty amount of hunger shards and other things also. I mean I get it, we said rewards aren't worth it. But this looks like a total "hold my beer" type of reaction to that.
