Allow Legionnaire's To Be Mounted?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! So as some of you may already know, Legionnaire's being centaur's (half human/half horse) will not be given mounts. However, as an added perk for fun/utility, I'm suggesting that if a Legionnaire consents, he/she can allow a fellow ally to mount him/her and ride into combat! If you like this idea, give this topic a lot of traffic, we wont the creators of Crowfall to put this one in!

They said no to this and to them having mounts. Instead they will get their own bonuses to match then up to mount speed.

No taximeter developed yet :(

Would be awesome though! Infact, 2 seater mounts... that'd be good!

Or

One steers the other fires a volley of hammers?

Or one rides while the other enjoys a scenic route into the battle which one didn't see coming

I know they said no, but I see no reason why not, instead of paying for a horse just ride a guildmate.

" Hey dorksmetal, can you come pick me up in Karlak? "

" Dude...that is so far away....can you just buy your own damn horse already "

" But centard rides r fun m8 (: "

Totally going to play Centaur when game launches. While adding the option to give my guildies a ride is a neat concept, i try to imagine it like carrying someone on your back. Its going to add weight, and i'm already going to be carrying a ton of equipment. Besides that, we can tell from the archetype backstory that the centaurs are a very proud people, and i doubt very much that they would allow someone to ride them like a horse. Might be cultural taboo

Maybe they don't want humans grinding on their backs?

I think there are tough balance issues here.  If the female centaur art on the KS isn't hype, then you may have a horse archer with two bows.   You could also have centaur lancers with melee-monsters riding them.

I like the idea of giving centaurs that adaptability and unique capability, but we have to look at significant draw-backs to balance that.

It would be so cool, if Centaurs had the pride and physical limitation to avoid allowing them to be ridden...

I hadn't thought of this.  That's a good way to balance carrying another player.  Maybe food consumption should be based in part on how much our characters are traveling and carrying relative to their maximum.  That creates incentives to be lightly armored AND strong or to only wear your heaviest stuff when you know you won't be moving around much.
