The Stretch Goal Suggestion Page

Recommended Posts

Figure since there wasn't a stretch goal suggestion forum yet (At least that I could find) that I would start one.

The guys and girls at artcraft have mentioned many times they want to listen to the community and suggestions we have to offer and so far they have done just that, so here we can post some suggestions for future stretch goals we thing can make this game better.

Starting it off with a suggestion I think might be nice;

Beast / Mount Breeding - I feel like this could be an extremely fun game effective side game / Crafting / Economy add to the game. The basics of it would work with having a tamed male and female of a species (not cross breeding [thought that would be awesome] because that would be insanely time consuming code wise.) which would employ tamers.

Second would be some form of crafted or built stable / farm structure where the animals could be placed to breed.

Third some form of crafted nesting area for the mammals to grow / eggs to hatch.

Think that would inspire / employ crafting, taming, and have a fun side game for people to play around in. Perhaps the quality of the specific stable / nesting area built by the crafters could even increase the stats of the animals you bred which would go along well with the Combat Enabled Pets stretch goal we already hit.

Traps:

Craftable - consumes resources and requires a player skill so you have to weigh the need/effectiveness against the cost

Provide - the ability to protect friendly targets or ambush your opponents.

Voxels - dig pitfalls and fill them with spikes and then conceal them

I think this goes well with mounts and caravans as well as combat pets.

The current 1.85 mil stretch is of the variety I prefer:

$1.85 Million
  • Hire a graphics programmer to improve the visual fidelity of the game.
  • This person will be specialist who will be an expert on the "flashy" areas of game development: lighting, environmental effects, spell effects and client performance/frame rate

Just like the current $1.85 million goal, I'd like to see a few more stretch goals for the development and look/gameplay of the game, not just always new additions to the game. Obviously once they reach a point in the games development where they cannot/do not want to improve the visuals or the gameplay of the game too drastically, then they should start getting in more stretch goals for extra stuff, much like Star Citizen's way of doing it until they got to the point of too many stretch goals.

Despite graphical improvement & stuffs I would say more choice during the character creation & more archetypes?

I know it's not "that" original but it's for me the more important...

I'm actually super excited for potential physics traps, hopefully with a system for ropes/pulleys or other fun simple machines,

I think that any new-feature stretch goals should be added very cautiously. It's easy to fall into the trap of promising a dozen different features, but budgeting (both time and money) in the game development world (Let alone the MMORPG world) is very difficult. Keep in mind that every feature that gets added beyond the core of the game is one more feature that may bloat out of control, and end up costing development time that inevitably delays the game.

Playable Naga Race. Do it. BE the first MMO to feature a playable Naga race. DO IT.

I like huge amount of character race selection, adds a ton of variety to the game which draws bigger crowds. this would be cool with some other selections like griffins, wyverns, manticores all sorts of animals like that would be neat, even if they were limited to gliding only like Fae.
