Dwarven Blacksmith Thrall and Crafting in Campaigns

Recommended Posts

I'm interested in Crafting, but I'm not terribly interested in the Forgemaster Archtype.  The Dwarven Blacksmith will cover me for my EK, I'm sure. But when I'm out on a Campaign this is where I'm sure being a Forgemaster has it's benefits.

Aside from being or befriending a Forgemaster, what are my options for Campaign Crafting? (Which I admit, I might just have to go with being a Forgemaster as an alt.)

As far as I'm aware there will be Disciplines that will give the same benefits as being a Forgemaster.

Every class will have some native crafting ability and every class will have access to crafting disciplines. No need to play astoneborn unless you especially want to.

I don't think there is a race specifically tailored to crafting, the ForgeMaster is more of a front-line buffer. It's probably the disciplines that you unlock that determine what you can craft.

It depends on which RuleSet you choose to play in, in some cases you can make and bring you're crafted gear into the campaign, whereas others you'll need to craft the gear inside the campaign.

Forgemaster is currently said to be more the master crafting archetype. Theoretically, others could get to 190, but the forgemaster can reach 200. We will get more information to clarify this in the long run, and you have to wonder if that 10 extra will make any realistic difference outside of some play-to-max folks.

Also, keep in mind that under the current rules you are not allowed to use multiple of your character slots in the same campaign world. In other words, you are only allowed one character per account in any single campaign. So even if you have 3 to 6 character slots you will only be allowed to use one of them in a campaign, which means that you will either need to choose to have a PvP character or a Forgemaster/Crafting character in a campaign. You currently can't choose to switch between characters or "alts" under the current rules.

Remember, of course, you can bypass this restriction by simply purchasing a second account.. sorry!! if you can't afford a second account.   ^_^

Those maybe the skill cap is the same for everyone but since FMs already have a baked in 10 points you can use the extra 10 points you have to also increase another skill that allows you to create better quality items.
