Asian Stretch Goal going slow?

Recommended Posts

Yal should be excited to rake in that asian market, #moremoney of course...there are flaws. devs listening to people with better internet...and designing for that instead of the hodge podge monopolized mess our infrastructure is....but thats probably not going to happen...right?

What could ACE add to the current stretch goal to entice someone to spend some cash?  Personally, nothing. I backed at Ruby and I'm done.

The store needs more fluff items. More species of mounts, caravans. So much EK stuff could be added to the store as well.  The problem with all this is the visual behind said item.  I hate buying something I haven't seen for a video game.

This is one of those naturalistic problems that fix themselves.

They want more money...they'll be incentivized to offer things...when they need money.

B)

Don'tcha worry, they'll be rattling their can, n hitchin up their shopping carts pan handling in no time B) "Beans, beans as far as the eye can see!" "We'll sell you a limited edition numbered coin!" "tee shirts with pictures, and colors, the works!" just you wait. They'll be getting their newspapers and squirt bottles n washing windows aggressively in no time.

I'm a little confused about this stretch goal (most of them, actually...).

There isn't anything beneficial to me as a player by helping reach it. I feel most of them (other than the rullesets) were that way.

That would seem to be why it's going so slow; there's nothing in it for every player if it is achieved.

This is the kind of thing that really shouldn't be a community-facing stretch goal, but rather some bullet point on an internal capital expenditure plan.

This ^-^

Guy, the benifits exist, to the players, its just subtle.

Asians are a huge gaming market. Like so many different gamers over there, and the Koreans...god the koreans. They're like ninja gamers. A culture of esports hype hype.

I can't wait to get my bros from the east interested in the game. Money converts into incentive to create content...sure it'll probably be designed to have split appeal, and stuff, but darn it!

Isn't that most stuff?!!

Can we please force Australians and New Zealanders to play on the closest Asian server over lagging all over the NA and EU servers.

For example, if there's a Singapore server, plz let Aussies/Kiwis to play on that server with an English client.

Or better yet, If demand is high enough, just plop down a server in Sydney so the people from the lag down under won't be forced to play with poor ping.

I have met some pretty cool kiwis and Aussies over MMO's before. I think its worth their ping to play with them lol.

I tried to upgrade from 60$ backer to 250 but the store denied me.... I guess it was God telling me not to ^_^

But the problem is that Asia usually has their own server. So the current goal doesn't help me on the NA servers. Sure the income helps the game which helps me but there is no reason for me to buy store stuff to help push the current goal.  Now if ACE decided to add in 10 different mount species and 10 different caravan species, with concept art, to a stretch goal then I might could drop some to get some different cosmetics in.

Why not double up on stretch goals.  Meaning one goal could be slightly larger like this 150k one, where ACE adds something that everyone could be happy with but help other regions as well. IE 5 new cosmetic mount skins + localization in Asia for a 175k goal.

Maybe it not about the happy ending. Maybe it's about the story.

I'm also an aussie and I'd also love to see Oceanic servers weather it be somewhere like Singapore but more preferably Sydney Australia would be good :).

Well the tricky bit is when you say Asian, you got to realize that the Asian markets are not uniform.

Japan is very different from Korea, and China.

Japan especially is a hard market to hit. The vast majority of gamers are console / hand held gamers, they often don't have home PC's powerful enough for MMO gaming, and while there are netcafes, and gaming cafes, they are not as big as they are in Korea.  You also have to compete with strong domestic production, and in a way almost a bit of nationalistic bias. It's not the best comparison but even with a massive marketing push Microsoft isn't getting anywhere with xbone sales here in Japan.

Also the idea of crowdfunding games is still a bit iffy. It took a while to convince a few friends to back, and then payment options weren't ideal for them. A lot of younger people don't have credit cards, and if they do they don't like using them, especially for a foreign website, in a language they are not extremely fluent in. A lot of net shopping, and game payments are done via convenience stores like 7/11 or through prepaid cards like Bitcash or Webmoney.

It would really help to have Japanese, Korean, and Chinese webpages, even if they were only a front with a very brief outline and then a forward to the English page.

Having better website localization, and better local payment options would really help, but it's going to be expensive and time consuming for ArtCraft to setup, for a market that might not be interested enough to warrant the expense.

From what I understand, Australian servers are expensive to setup or lease.

I can understand the resistance to purchase something from a different country where you can't fully understand the language.

I do believe having a little part of the pages translated would help till the stretch goal is reached.

It does seem to be going slower then the other ones, as for my spouse and I I finally backed the game yesterday and over the next three months she will be going up to Gold and I will be going up to Amber

For the night is dark and filled with terrors.

The benefit of having Asian servers is not having to get up at 4am to protect yourselves from Asian players that just got psyched up.

Right now it has gone slower in raising funds but I think once there is a possibility of showcasing some more alpha footage I think that will entice more people to come on board with a pledge. We are nearing September now and I hope we get to see some form of combat testing for the game. I would really like to try something new as all the other MMO's out now bore me. I'm only playing WoW to pass the time by because there is no other MMO out there with good pvp. I hope Crowfall comes and fills that void.

The current stretch goal gets an average of ~$3,950 / day.

The other post KS stretch goals got an average of ~$3,050 / day.

The end of the Kickstarter deals probably contributed to the higher amount of pledges, but other factors helped stimulating the pledges for previous SG too.

Actually.... do the Asian markets like this kind of game? Is this a worthy goal?  is it just a waste of our money?

When I think Asian market I think of Monster Hunter(Pve), Archeage( PvP.... most Asian videos I saw were Arena), Age of Wushu(PvP) Dragon Nest(PvE brawler) Final Fantasies(PvE) , Black Desert went carebear mode and only allow level cap to Open PvP with really harsh penalties if you do, Blade and Soul( Porn), Scarlet Blade( Porn) Azera( Porn), cutesy anime pve experiences, and MOAR PORN.

from what I can think of..... nope... Asians don't like pvp unless its starcraft.
