Wearing a gray deathrobe at Brit Bank- Naked casters/stealth gankers/thieves

Recommended Posts

If the basic gears offer some good stats and are fairly easy to acquire, I see no reason for people to run naked.

The reason isnt because gear is to hard or to easy to acquire.

Its the mindset that certain survival games have created where the person that spawns naked with nothing can (if they are lucky) kill someone and obtain free gear. If a naked person even has a .1 percent chance of killing an armored person then, when that naked spawns they can just die and repeat untill they kill someone with good gear. Because unless there is a penalty for death (other than losing gear) the naked people dont have any reason to try and gear up, but if the death penalty is heavier than just loseing gear (skill xp loss, extended respawn timers, etc) then that would be the main way to discourage this

Naked gankers are not going to have any impact on the game of thrones except by rare and extraordinary happenstance. Like AI mobs, they simply raise the threat level of the environment; anyone who's seriously playing to win a campaign is not going to be naked and is not going to be doing anything important without the tools to deal with nakeds..

too high a death penalty discourages fighting, aka discourages PvP

As long as the discrepancy between naked and geared is big enough, so the impact of nakeds on a battle is minimal, there is no need to have anything else but full loot and the travel time associated with death (respawn points).

I agree that some people will probably be tempted to fight naked for different reasons. However most players will probably prefer to just get basic gears and risk to lose them rather than being ineffective by not wearing any gear.

There was an interesting interview where ACE discussed how losing gears will be closer to inconsequential than truly impacting in Crowfall, taking Minecraft as an example of easy come easy go items, but at the same time gears would be important enough to prevent naked fighting : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13f1-w8IPsY&feature=youtu.be&t=48m01s
